Kalanchoe pinnata, formerly known as Bryophyllum pinnata and commonly called mother of millions or Chandelier plant, is a succulent plant native to Madagascar. Like other members of Bryophyllum (now included in Kalanchoe), it is able to propagate vegetatively from plantlets that develop on its leaf margins.

Just so that there is no ambiguity, the plantlets are the small buds of foliage at the tops of the succulent branches. Under favourable conditions, these plantlets establish quickly once rooted.

Kalanchoe pinnata can reach up to 3 feet tall with opposite, fleshy oblong-lanceolate "leaves" that reach as much as 6-8 inches long and 1 1/4 inches wide. As mentioned before, at the tips of the leaf serrations, are spoon-shaped bulbiferous spurs that bear young plants. These plantlets will even form roots while still on the plant.
